This section represents data related to educational level of population, to public (municipal) and non-public education establishments: general education schools, primary schools, secondary vocational and higher vocational education.

Those having adequate level of education include:

postrgraduate higher vocational education - graduated from postgraduate and doctorial courses, etc.;

higher vocational education - graduated from educational establishments of higher vocational education;

incompleted higher vocational education - - those studied basic higher educational program during at least two years and got the diploma, as well as who studied basic higher education program during a half or more of the duration of complete course;

secondary vocational education - graduated from secondary special education establishment: special professional school, college, or from higher education establishments according to secondary vocational education programs;

primary vocational education - graduated from primary educational establishment (vocational and/or technical school, vocational lyceums) as part of basic general or secondary (complete) education; educational establishments of secondary or higher professional education according to the program for primary professional education;

secondary (complete) education - graduated from secondary general education school, lyceum, gymnasium, etc.;

basic general education (incomplete secondary) - graduated from 9 form of general education establishment, incomplete secondary school, studing at 10-11(12) forms of general education school;

general education (primary) - graduated from primary general education school, studing at 4-9 forms of general education establishments.

Pupils (trainees) of general education establishments (excluding evening (shift-time) general education establishments) include persons studing at general education establishments and boarding-schools, cadet institutions, general education summer boarding-schools, special (correctional) education establishments and classes for pupils with limited health capacities, special education establishments for pupils with disabilities and deviations in mental development, health improving education establishments of sanatory type foк pupils in need of continous care, education establishments for children in need of psycho-pedagogical and medico-social assistance.

Colleges are included in the group of secondary vocational education establishments.

Non-public higher education establishments include those having public licences.

Total enrolment of higher and secondary vocational education establishments does not include foreign students studying in the Russian Federation.
