Eurostat, OECD and Goskomstat of Russia are planning to conduct
a joint seminar on problems related with statistical estimation
of non-observed economy from 16 to 20 October, 2000 in “Dagomys” resort (see link) in Sochi, Krasnodar region. This seminar
will summarize experience of different countries (in the first line,
countries, participating in TACIS statistical program) in this area,
as well as deeply discuss the draft of “Handbook on statistical
estimation of non-observed economy” developed according to the recommendations
of the Statistical Division of the United Nations by international
group of experts under supervision of OECD Statistical Directorate.
The working `languages of the seminar will be Russian and English
(simultaneous translation will be provided during the session).
The problem of realistic statistical evaluation of parameters for
non-observed economy has a special importance for the countries
with transitional economies. The Goskomstat of Russia considers
it to be a great importance to attract to seminar well-known economists,
representatives of executive, legislative circles and scientists.
Specialists from the Goskomstat of Russia, CIS representatives,
experts from other countries and international organizations, as
well as representatives from different Russian bodies and scientific
organizations will take part in this seminar.
The thesis’s (see link) of the reports from invited participants
are to be published in the Goskomstat of Russia’s web-site, when
submitted.
Those who wish to present a paper on given subjects and take part
in a seminar at any conditions can send claim for participation
using registration form (see link) and their
papers (not more than 10 pages for paper and 1,5-2 pages for thesis’s)
at National Accounts Department by e-mail MASAKOVA_ID@gks.ru.
The seminar organizers will jointly decide about possible participation
form for authors of the most interesting papers.
