IAOS 2014 Conference on Official Statistics “Meeting the demands of a changing world” Date: 8-10 October 2014
On October 8-10, 2014 the city of Da Nang (Viet Nam) hosted a conference "Meeting the demands of a changing world" of the International Association for Official Statistics (IAOS), which is one of the seven associations of the International Statistical Institute designed to develop the international statistical cooperation and to promote the United Nations’ Fundamental Principles of Official Statistics. Biennially IAOS holds the event, which gathers together specialists in the field of statistics from national statistical offices, international organizations and academic institutions and provide a platform to discuss a wide range of issues of statistical quality. The Conference in Da Nang, organized in cooperation with the State Statistics Service of Viet Nam considered a wide range of issues, regarding global statistical system, such as using new data sources and advanced methods of dissemination and exchange of statistical information. At the Conference Russia was represented by delegations of Rosstat and Moscow University of Economics, Statistics and Informatics. Rosstat presented a report on “New Methods of Dissemination and Building Partnerships for Promoting Openness of Official Statistics”. The joint report of Rosstat and Moscow University of Economics, Statistics and Informatics on “The interaction of official statistics and educational organizations in Russia” was under study during the event.
